Hailing from Philadelphia, New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal band Corners of Sanctuary (COS) formed in 2011 with a desire to bring back the sounds of Classic Heavy Metal to the modern music arena.

2012 marked the release of the band’s debut album “Breakout”. Being well received, “Breakout” was listed in the Lithuanian publication Diovim as one of the Best CDs of 2012. With the marketing power of Pure Steel Records in Germany, “Breakout” was quickly followed up by the 2013 release “Harlequin”.

Later that same year, their third album “Axe to Grind” released under La Mazakuata Records in Mexico.

In late 2014, Pure Steel Records re‐released “Axe to Grind” in Europe. In September 2015, COS signed with Metalizer Records in Germany, for the release of their fourth full‐length album “Metal Machine”. The album was mastered by famed producer and Death Dealer guitarist Stu “The Hammer” Marshall, and was met with worldwide critical acclaim, delivering hits like “Wrecking Ball” and “Tomorrow Never Comes.”

COS has appeared on the covers of Spain’s Heavy Riffs Magazine (Aug 2015), Rockwired Magazine (USA) (Feb 2016) and Sin City’s Presents (USA) (Feb 2017). The band was also named “Artist of Month” three times by Rockwired Magazine: August 2015, March 2016 and again in March 2018.

Corners of Sanctuary has performed with many prominent artists including being direct support for: Anvil, Stryper, UDO, Tim “Ripper” Owens (Judas Priest), Joey Belladona (Anthrax), Blood Feast, Grim Reaper, David Shankle (Manowar), Bulletboys, Roughhouse (Teeze), Damon Johnson (Black Star Riders, Thin Lizzy), and Burt C. Bell (Fear Factory).

Other notable artists COS has worked with include: Butcher Babies, Tracii Guns, Anvil Bitch, Saving Abel, Saxon, Tantric, Marc Rizzo of Soulfly, Green Jello, Black Lodge, Wrath, Act of Defiance, Britny Fox, Silvertung, Black Lodge and Edge of Paradise among others.

In 2016, COS released their best of compilation, “Declaration of Metal” which contained the brand new track titled “Hyde No More”. The release also produced two music videos which, collectively, received over 30K views on Youtube in just a few weeks.

In March of 2017, the band dropped a new EP titled “Cut Your Losses” on Exquisite Noise Records USA along with a video for the track “Wild Card,” on both Youtube and Facebook. In the Fall of 2017, the band then released two new singles, “Dreams,” and “Burn”; both tracks featured guest femail vocal performances. The band also released their annual Holiday installment of “Merry Metal Xmas”.

Corners of Sanctuary continues to tour, bringing the music to the people, supporting their unique brand of Modern Traditional Heavy Metal. COS completed The 2017 American Metal Mayhem Tour in December, which was presented by Metal Babe Mayhem and MBM Music LLC. The tour took the band coast to coast across the United States.

COS’s latest album, the heart pounding “The Galloping Hordes”, is now available on Killer Metal Records which is headquartered in Germany. A lyric video for the title track also accompanied the release. The new album has the distinction of including legendary producer and engineer Bill Metoyer (Slayer, W.A.S.P., Fates Warning) as head of the post production mastering team.

The band is already supporting the album with a string of shows that have included appearing with comedian Don Jamieson of “That Metal Show”, 80’s rockers Roughhouse, Thrash legends Blood Feast and Anvil Bitch and Joey Belladonna of Anthrax.

Summer 2018 will also take the band to Europe for their first ever string of shows as well as performances throughout the United States and into Canada this Fall.

Hard hitting, head banging, straight forward Heavy Metal is the mission of Corners of Sanctuary ‐  nothing less will do. Old School is back with a vengeance.... Metal has returned – COSnROLL!
